What Football league is Snohomish Panther Junior Football League a part of?

SPJFA is part of the North Sound Junior Football League (NSJFL)

Do I have to live in Snohomish to be able to play for SPJFA?

Our program is the youth football feeder program for Snohomish High School. This means that all players must reside in or attend a school in the Snohomish School District boundaries that feeds into Snohomish High School. If you do not reside in or attend a school in the Snohomish School District boundaries that feeds into Snohomish High School, and wish to register to play for SPJFA, please reach out to snohomishjrfootball@gmail.com before registering.

When Does Registration Open/Close?

Registration for our tackle football program will open in March and will run through the beginning of July.

What do my registration fees cover?

Registration fees help cover the cost of the football gear and equipment for all players, the cost of renting all fields that we practice and play on during the season, paying our referees, insurance for the program, NSID (National Sports ID-verification and compliance software), processing fees for the website, car wash tickets, as well as your player's personalized practice and game day jerseys.

Do you offer financial scholarships?

Yes! SPJFA believes that every child should be able to play football no matter what the financial circumstances are. We do have financial scholarships available for those who qualify.

When does the season start/end?

Our season typically starts the second week of August for practices and will go until end of October or mid-November (depending on if your team made it to the playoffs/championship games)

How many days a week do you practice?

During the summer, we practice 4 days a week for 2 hours in the evenings. Once school starts, practices will drop down to 3 days a week for 2 hours in the evenings. We try and have the younger teams practice first and then the older teams have the later practices. Practices will be held at multiple locations in Snohomish during the season.

We definitely understand that attending these practices is a big time commitment to make. However, it is very important to ensure your player attends all practices as it really helps with their development, learning the game, being a part of a team and with their safety and well-being on the field. If your player will be absent, we ask that you please let your head coach know and/or RSVP on the Crossbar app.

What type of gear does my player need to play tackle?

SPJFA will provide your player with a helmet, shoulder pads, and padded practice and game day pants. It is your responsibility to provide cleats (molded rubber or removable plastic-not metal), a mouthguard, football socks and definitely a water bottle! We highly recommend a protective cup be worn as well. Personalized practice and game day jerseys will be included with your registration fees.

Who Do I Contact For Gear Questions?

You should always contact your head coach or team mom first and then if they are unable to help you, you can contact our Equipment Manager or Assistant Equipment Manager.

When do Games start?

Our season kicks off with the NSJFL Jamboree which is held towards the end of August. We will then start regular season games a week after the jamboree. Games will be held on Saturdays. We ask that your player arrive early and on time prior to games to ensure they have time to warm up with their team. Playoffs and championship games will start the week after the last regular season games and will end Mid-November.

How Do I Keep Up with schedules and Updates during the season?

We use Crossbar which is a great platform for all scheduling and communications throughout the entire season! Make sure to download the app upon registering and turn all notifications on.

What kind of safety training do your coaches have?

SPJFA has the safety of each and every one of our players as our top priority.

No player will see the field unless the coaches feel that they are truly ready to play. Every coach has online safety training and is USA HEADS UP concussion certified!

How Do I Volunteer?

Our league is run 100% by volunteers! We can't be successful without the help of our families and community. Every family is expected to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours per season. We will have many volunteer opportunities available (such as in concessions!) and they will be posted on our Crossbar app when applicable.

What if I have a question or concern regarding my player?

Each one of our coaches and board members are here to listen to any questions or concerns you may have. We all want to see your player succeed and play to their full potential! We understand that issues may arise during the season and you might want to ask questions. Your head coach will be your best resource and player advocate to address whatever concerns you have.

Are there any camps before the season starts?

Yes! We will have a couple of fun camps put on by Snohomish High School Football and SPJFA for players to participate in prior to our season start. This is a great opportunity for the players to meet coaches, teammates as well as get a head start learning some great skills!
